ApexSearch was founded in 2009 by Eleftherios Vraniotis, a former managing partner of the Athens office of a Big Four advisory practice, and Iro Konstantopoulou, who had spent fifteen years as a leadership consultant in London at Heidrick & Struggles and at Egon Zehnder. They opened in a small office on Kanari Street in Kolonaki, with one client — a family-owned shipping group — and a single principle: that retained search done with discipline produces better outcomes than scaled, contingent search, and that the way to demonstrate that is by limiting how many mandates a consultant carries at once. We are now a partnership of seven — three senior partners, two principals, and two associates — supported by an in-house research team of four. Our cap is firm: no consultant car
